Review: Anyone interested in this company, PLEASE read this review and keep the number of the Better Business Bureau nearby. (To skip the frustrating details, go directly to the last paragraph). I notice from earlier postings that I am not alone in the way Sensible treats its customers. I had problems with my washing machine: Sensible’s repair tech said it was the belt and measured it on the first visit but didn’t notice the huge vibration of the machine when running. On his second visit, the belt didn’t fit and he apologized he had mis-measured it. At that time, I pointed out the shaking of the machine which resulted in his suggesting it be replaced. Now begins the story: between the delay of the service tech and getting Sensible to formally approve replacing the machine (the person to approve this was always on the phone or never in the office, etc.) was almost 2 weeks. (can you imagine 2 weeks without a washing machine?!). After several phone calls, I finally insisted on and received written approval for me to purchase a new machine. I bought the machine and sent the invoice to Sensible for reimbursement and was assured it would be paid promptly. Waited a bit, and no check. I called Sensible and was assured it would be paid within, say, 10 days or so. Waited a little over what they had told me…no check…so I called them again and again and got a frustrating runaround as to when it would be paid. I asked to speak with the “Director”, and left numerous messages for him/her (NOT ONCE did I get a return call). I might add, I was never abusive or disrepectful to those whom I spoke with, so that it no excuse for them not returning calls. I made multiple phone calls (at least 6) asking for a date I would receive the check and would ask for a call back from – anyone!! Didn’t ever receive one call back from anyone in Sensible (and NEVER, NEVER received one call back from that “Director”). Finally, out of desperation, I contacted the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU in Nevada and filed a claim. After weeks and weeks of calling, it took the Better Business Bureau to get my reimbursement. Bottom line: if you want a home warranty company that will 1) delay approving/reimbursing you for a replacement appliance, 2) NEVER, EVER return your phone call, 3) need the intervention of the Better Business Bureau to get your money, then this is the company you should use. Do yourself a favor and do your homework and carefully investigate any home warranty company you’re thinking of using…don’t get me wrong, there are some really good ones. After my fiasco with Sensible, I did a lot of research and I found probably the best home warranty company…service techs are timely and know what they’re doing, you don’t wait a long time for a decision/approval and you get reimbursed quickly. So, they’re out there but invest as much time as you do dollars in finding the right one.
